Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are one of our favorites, the oatmeal makes the cookie moist. Change the types of chips around for a new flavor each time. I like the standard semi-sweet and sometimes I add raisins. I always double this recipe and freeze some or take some to neighbors/friends/work.

1 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2 T milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups quicking cooking rolled oats
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375, stir first 5 ingredients, add next 4 and mix with wooden spoon or with your hands. Stir in oats and chips. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet, bake 10 minutes until golden.
Makes 3-4 dozen cookies
